Institute for Local Issues

In recent years, the Partnership has re-established our Institute for Local Issues as part of our work with the Massachusetts Office of Business Development through the state’s Regional Economic Development Organization Program.  The Institute is hosted by the Partnership's program committees, namely:

The Partnership has long recognized the connection between infrastructure and continued economic growth and prosperity in the 495/MetroWest region.  Through our Institute for Local Issues forumswe have provided a service to the region, offering direct interaction with policymakers, and access to information on state and federal programs. Topics addressed by our Institute for Local Issues over recent years included a wide variety of development initiatives such as:

Continuing our series of Institute for Local Issues forums for regional leaders from both the public and private sectors will continue to provide a valuable resource for our region.  The Partnership is pleased to offer this service as part of our mission securing continued economic prosperity of the 495/MetroWest region.  The schedule for this year is already getting busy, for more information on how to participate, please contact the Partnership’s Deputy Director, Jessica Strunkin.


Combined Committee Meetings

The 495/MetroWest Partnership is committed to keeping you informed on a variety of topics important to our region.  Occasionally this results in pulling together the Partnership's three standing Committees -Energy & Sustainable Development; Transportation; and Water Resources- on topics that relate to all three.

The Governor's Real Estate Assets Program Director, Abi Vladeck, AICP, made a presentation on the Open for Business program.

Jonathan Berk, Patronicity's Director for the New England Region, made a presentation on MassDevelopment's Commonwealth Places program. 

Ed Starzec, Director of Land Entitlements & Master Planning at MassDevelopment, made a presentation on their new Site Readiness program.
